There was no surprise in Logrono where 14th ranked Al-Qazeres (2-9) was defeated by twelfth ranked Promete (5-8) 68-62 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Laia Flores (171-96, college: S.Florida) chipped in 15 points. Four Promete players scored in double figures. Greek forward Mariella Fasoula (196-97, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Wasserman) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Cypriot-Greek swingman Eleanna Christinaki (183-96, college: Maryland) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Promete moved-up to tenth place. Loser Al-Qazeres keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Promete will meet Araski (#11) in the next round. Al-Qazeres will play against Cadi La Seu and hope to secure a win.
