Regular Season Round 4: Niroo Zamini - Mahram 47-90

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tehran: Mahram (#3) and Niroo Zamini (#8). Niroo Zamini was smashed at home by 43 points 47-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Mahram dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Niroo Zamini's 28. Mahram forced 24 Niroo Zamini turnovers and outrebounded them 44-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Niroo Zamini's players. The winners were led by the former international center Meisam Mirzaei (210-92) who scored that evening 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Mahdi Kamrani (181-82) supported him with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 6 points and 8 rebounds by Ramin Mohammadi did not help to save the game for Niroo Zamini. Khashayar Ali-Akbari added 5 points and 4 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mahram (2-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Niroo Zamini at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams.
