An interesting game for Unicaja (8-0) which played road game in Almeria against 4th ranked Almeria (6-4). Top-ranked Unicaja managed to get a 4-point victory 75-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Almeria. Unicaja made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Almeria 41-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Taja Cole (173-97, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Unicaja's coach Lorena Aranda used entire bench in such tough game. Argentinian point guard Macarena Durso (162-91) replied with 21 points and power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) added 15 points in the effort for Almeria. Unicaja have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 8-0 record. Loser Almeria dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Unicaja will face Alcobendas (#4) at home in the next round. Almeria will play against Granada and hope to win that game.
