Regular Season Round 20: Ibaraki R. - Yamagata 70-77

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Ibaraki R. (13-7) against sixth ranked Yamagata (8-12) on Wednesday night. Host Ibaraki R. was defeated by Yamagata in a tough game in Mito 70-77. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Andrew Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: UCF) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Yamagata players scored in double figures. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yamagata maintains sixth position with 8-12 record. Ibaraki R. at the other side keeps the second place with seven games lost. They share the position with Sendai 89ers and Fukushima. Yamagata will play against higher ranked Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ibaraki R. will play on the road against Aomori W. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
