B1 League top team - Aishin Sea Horses (14-5) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Dragonflies (4-15) in Kariya 87-64. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. North Macedonian-American center Shane Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain first place with 14-5 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT and Ryukyu GK. Dragonflies lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Hokkaido L.. Aishin Sea Horses will meet Niigata A. (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dragonflies will play against Diamond Dolphins and hope to secure a win.
