Regular Season Round 4: Akademik P. - TFT Skopje 80-75

Balkan League top team - Bulgarian Academik Plovdiv (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked North Macedonian TFT Skopje (2-4) 80-75. Academik Plovdiv had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Vasil Bachev (195-92, college: Cuesta JC) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and forward Nikolay Nikolov (196-94) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side American guard Ty Harris (188-91, college: Columbus St.) responded with 24 points, 9 assists and 7 steals and his fellow American import forward Amir Smith (200-97, college: Hampton) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. Four TFT Skopje players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Academik Plovdiv have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. TFT Skopje lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Academik Plovdiv will play against Kumanovo (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TFT Skopje will play against Teodo Tivat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
