Fifteenth-ranked Sharks (4-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Golden Bulls (13-2) in Shanghai. The visitors from Hangzhou managed to secure only one-point victory 124-123. However their fans expected much easier game. Golden Bulls made 28-of-32 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Sharks were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 38 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and the former international point guard Qian Wu (188-94) accounted for 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) came up with 51 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center ZhaoXu Zhang (221-87, college: California) added 12 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Sharks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Golden Bulls maintains second place with 13-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Liaoning FL. Sharks lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Golden Bulls' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Hangzhou Guangsha Lions.
