Regular Season Round 5: Rafsanjan - Qazvin 79-81

A very close game took place in Rafsanjan between Qazvin and Rafsanjan. Third ranked Qazvin (3-1) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Rafsanjan (1-3). Qazvin managed to escape with a 2-point win 81-79 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Qazvin made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Rafsanjan turnovers. The best player for the winners was international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-0) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Qazvin players scored in double figures. Qazvin's coach Mohammed Eslami used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Saeid Mohammadi (187-92) produced 24 points and the former international swingman Mohammad Shahrian (193-93) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Qazvin maintains third place with 3-1 record behind leader Mahram. Newly promoted Rafsanjan dropped to the sixth position with three games lost.
