Regular Season Round 11: Boras - Umea 98-76

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Umea (2-8) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Boras Basket (7-4) 98-76 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 17-30 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Boras Basket made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. Boras Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Canadian point guard Marek Klassen (186-92, college: PLNU) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. International Nils William (205-92) helped adding 21 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Boras Basket players scored in double figures. American forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Spanish forward Maxim Esteban (201-98) scored 16 points. Umea's coach Boris Balibrea gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Umea lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Boras Basket will meet KFUM Jamtland (#7) in the next round. Umea will play against BC Lulea and hope to secure a win.
