Everything went according to plan in Nanjing where sixteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-13) beat 18th ranked Pioneers (2-15) 110-106 on Friday. Jiangsu Dragons made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Pioneers were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Devin Williams (206-94, college: WVU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Dezmine Wells (196-92, college: Maryland) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Jiangsu Dragons' coach Nan Li allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Bosnian-Serbian Dejan Todorovic (196-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and forward Liu Shuai (205-95) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons maintains sixteenth place with 4-13 record. Pioneers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 15 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face higher ranked Heroes (#5) in Jinan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pioneers will play at home against Flying Tigers (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
