There was no surprise in Santander where bottom-ranked Moron (0-8) was defeated by second ranked Estela (7-2) 88-76 on Saturday. Estela outrebounded Moron 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: CUI, agency: Duran International) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Equatorial Guinean forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Estela players scored in double figures. Estela's coach David Mangas used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Francisco Marquez (203-99) who recorded 23 points and point guard Diego Gallardo (192-96) added 15 points respectively. Despite that victory Estela went down to third position (Silver) due to points difference. Loser Moron still closes the standings with eight games lost. Estela will face Algeciras (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Moron will play against Gijon (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
