No shocking result in a game in Pelpin where second ranked Gornik (12-2) smashed 14th ranked Pelplin (5-9) 95-72 on Saturday. They outrebounded Pelplin 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Gornik looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Forward Maciej Bojanowski (200-96) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Gornik players scored in double figures. Naturalized Canadian forward Nick Madray (206-94, college: Wagner, agency: Promotex) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Pelplin's coach Bartosz Sarzalo gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gornik have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Czarni. Newly promoted Pelplin dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Gornik will face Dziki Wwa (#6) in Warszawa in the next round where they are favorite. Pelplin will play on the road against Wisla Krakow (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
