Regular Season Round 9: Carbajosa - Marbella 59-69

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Carbajosa (5-6) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Marbella (5-3) 69-59 on Saturday. Marbella made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Danish swingman David Knudsen (196-94, college: Marist) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Arturo Cruz (184-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Alex Illikainen (206-96, college: UMD, agency: Duran International) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Carbajosa's coach Jesus Gutierrez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Marbella moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Newly promoted Carbajosa dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Marbella will face Clavijo (#9) in Logrono in the next round. Carbajosa will play at home against Zamorano and hope to win that game.
