Regular Season Round 8: TSU - Rustavi 85-92

There was a minor upset in Tbilisi where second-ranked TSU (5-3) was defeated by top-ranked Rustavi (4-0) 92-85 on Saturday. TSU trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 35-22 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 85-92 at the end of the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and forward JyLan Washington (206-97, college: Tennessee St.) who added 22 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Forward Quintin Dove (201-98, college: UT Martin) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Bryce Smith (206-98, college: Valdosta St.) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four TSU players scored in double figures. Rustavi have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. TSU at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Rustavi will face Olimpi (#10) in Tbilisi in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
