Regular Season Round 6: Chalons-Reims - Chalon 58-81

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Chalons-Reims (1-4) was crushed at home by tenth ranked Chalon (2-2) 81-58 on Saturday. Chalon dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Chalons-Reims' 30. They also forced 26 Chalons-Reims turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Antonin Monin (184-0) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Center Yvann MBaya (208-1) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Jules Le-Roux (198-1) who recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ibrahim Dansoko (202-2) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chalon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Le Portel. Loser Chalons-Reims dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. They will face Monaco (#14) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Chalons-Reims will play against Roanne and hope to win that game.
