Regular Season Round 14: Tsmoki-Minsk - Brest 127-46

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Brest (3-9) was crushed on the road by second ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (11-1) 127-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tsmoki-Minsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brest to just 7 points in third quarter. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 24. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 31 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 49-20 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tsmoki-Minsk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Brest's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Maksim Korattsov (186-98) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Uladzislau Blizniuk (181-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. Five Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach Rostislav Vergun felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Mikhail Rahashchuk (204-3) produced 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Daniil Kolesnikov (200-2) added 8 points respectively for the guests. Tsmoki-Minsk have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-1 record having just three points less than leader Grodno. Brest lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk will face league's leader Grodno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brest will play against Gomel (#10) and hope to win that game.
