Regular Season Round 20: Osaka E. - Ryukyu GK 69-87

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osaka. Second ranked Ryukyu GK faced 4th ranked Osaka E.. Guests from Okinawa (15-5) defeated host Osaka E. (9-11) 87-69. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch-French power forward Kim Tillie (210-88, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Hiroki Fujita used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Ryukyu GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT and Sea Horses M. Osaka E. at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osaka E. will play again against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
