Regular Season Round 11: Viladecans - Maresme 82-63

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Maresme (8-1) on the court of fourth ranked Viladecans on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Viladecans 82-63. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Maresme. Viladecans shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Marta Claret (185-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 assists. Point guard Elena Silva (173-93) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Viladecans players scored in double figures. Forward Mireia Vila (183-91, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Slovenian guard Sara Vujacic (180-96, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Viladecans have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Viladecans maintains fourth place in Group C with 7-3 record. Maresme at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Viladecans are looking forward to face Segle XXI (#5) in Barcelona in the next round. Maresme's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Barcelona Barca CBS.
