The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Mantova's (2-3) road victory over bottom-ranked Orzinuovi (0-3) 69-67 on Sunday. Mantova forced 20 Orzinuovi turnovers. Strangely Orzinuovi outrebounded Mantova 37-25 including 33 on the defensive glass. Forward Davide Tognoni (196-2) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Riccardo Cortese (197-86) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Matteo Martini (195-92, agency: Players Group) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: GWU) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Orzinuovi players scored in double figures. Mantova moved-up to seventh place in A2. Loser Orzinuovi still closes the standings with three games lost. Mantova will face Bergamo (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Orzinuovi will play against Casale and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
