Regular Season Round 9: Huima - Pyrinto Ak.B 76-69

Very expected game in Aanekoski where 13th ranked Pyrinto Ak.B (2-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Huima (6-4) 76-69 on Sunday. Pyrinto Ak.B was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Huima, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Pyrinto Ak.B turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Pyrinto Ak.B's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Kavaughn Scott (201-98, college: Loyola, MD) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Roni Ahvenjarvi (197-2) who recorded 25 points and 5 steals and guard Kion Williams (185-3) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Huima moved-up to third place in 1st Division. Loser Pyrinto Ak.B dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Huima will meet HyPo (#7) in the next round. Pyrinto Ak.B will play against PeU-Basket (#9) in Pernio and hope to secure a win.
