Regular Season Round 3: Avellino - Pozzuoli 73-70

A very close game took place in Avellino between Avellino and Pozzuoli. Avellino (3-0) got a very close home victory over Pozzuoli (1-2). Avellino managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Greek-Brazilian forward Dimitris Sousa (198-94, college: UVA Wise) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Uchenna Ani (199-0) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Avellino's coach Gianluca De Gennaro used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Bosnian point guard Amar Balic (180-96) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Senegalese Sam Gaye-Serigne (198-96, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Pozzuoli in the defeat. Four Pozzuoli players scored in double figures. Avellino will meet Rieti on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pozzuoli will play against Roma Luiss and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
