The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gorgan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gorgan smashed 5th ranked Exxon SC at home 74-54. Gorgan held Exxon SC to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.1 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Gorgan had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. International forward Michael Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international center Keyvan Riaei (209-94) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Gorgan players scored in double figures. American point guard Corin Henry (181-88, college: Tarleton St.) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Mohsen Moradkhani (213-90) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gorgan have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Naft Abadan. Exxon SC at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Parsa.
