Regular Season Round 20: Handlova - Prievidza 82-68

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Handlova (4-11) beat at home their close opponent Prievidza (4-10) 82-68 on Monday. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-96, college: FAU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Handlova's coach Danilo Rakocevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Grant Sitton (206-93, college: Victoria) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian guard Miha Vasl (192-92) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Prievidza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Handlova went down to seventh position due to points difference. Prievidza lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Handlova will face higher ranked Lucenec (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
