There was a minor upset when Ashdod (1-2) lost on the road to Holon (1-2) 83-72 on Monday. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Shae Kelley (185-91, college: Minnesota) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Holon players scored in double figures. Point guard Alexis Peterson (173-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and center Khadijiah Cave (190-95, college: Baylor) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ashdod in the defeat. Holon will meet Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#8) on the road in the next round. Ashdod will play against Petah Tikva and hope to win that game.
