Regular Season Round 5: Al Wihdat - Al Jalil 98-68

Bottom-ranked Al Jalil (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 98-68 loss to third ranked Al Wihdat (3-2) in Amman. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Al Wihdat outrebounded Al Jalil 59-43 including a 44-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. International guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-94, college: Mars Hill) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International point guard Mahmoud Abdeen (191-87) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Abuhawwas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Al Wihdat's coach Yousef Abu Baker felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibrahim Hamati (187-96) answered with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Ali Abdalrahman Zayadneh added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Al Jalil. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Ahli. Al Jalil lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost.
