Fifteenth-ranked Sharks (5-12) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Jilin Tigers (12-7) in Changchun. Jilin Tigers managed to secure only one-point victory 102-101. However their fans expected much easier game. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 42. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Cheng Zhong (206-89) supported him with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Even 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) did not help to save the game for Sharks. The former international center Hanlin Don (207-91) added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shandong H. and Qingdao E. Sharks at the other side keep the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Jilin Tigers will play against Sturgeons (#18) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sharks will play on the road against Pioneers in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
