Regular Season Round 6: Paulistano - Campo Mourao 103-101

Thirteenth-ranked Campo Mourao (3-8) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Paulistano (7-2) in Sao Paulo on Thursday. Paulistano managed to secure only two-point victory 103-101. However their fans expected much easier game. Paulistano looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was center Maique Tavares (210-93) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Caue Borges (187-91) chipped in 26 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Anton Cook (189-95, college: SE Oklahoma) who recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Lucao Moraes (211-94) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Paulistano and five Campo Mourao players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Paulistano moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bauru. Campo Mourao lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Paulistano's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo .
