Regular Season Round 12: Vigarano - Sassari 85-66

Vigarano can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Sassari (2-8) 85-66. Vigarano dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sassari's 30. It was a good game for Ukrainian power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) contributed with 27 points and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four Vigarano players scored in double figures. American guard Kennedy Burke (185-97, college: UCLA, agency: Wasserman) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points in the effort for Sassari. Vigarano (1-9) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place. It was Sassari's fifth loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Vigarano will play against higher ranked San Martino (#8) in San Martino di L in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sassari will play at home against Schio where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
