Very predictable result when first ranked Miedzychod (9-2) defeated at home 7th ranked Katy Wroc. (6-5) 97-86 on Saturday. Miedzychod looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Katy Wroc. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Lukasz Ulchurski (185-90) stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and swingman Jakub Nowak (186-89) chipped in 29 points. At the losing side point guard Michal Lipinski (185-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and forward Marcin Bluma (201-89) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Miedzychod. They maintain first place with 9-2 record, which they share with Tarnovia. Loser Katy Wroc. dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Miedzychod will face Gimbasket (#12) in Wroclaw in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Katy Wroc. will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tarnovia (#2) in Tarnowo Podgorne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
