Everything could happen in Bydgoszcz at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked GTK and 13th ranked Enea Astoria had identical 7-9 record. But Enea Astoria was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Gliwice 88-68 on Saturday night. GTK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Josh Perkins (190-95, college: Gonzaga, agency: Wasserman) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Jordon Varnado (198-97, college: Troy) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four GTK players scored in double figures. GTK's coach Matthias Zollner used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Corey Sanders (188-97, college: Rutgers) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Jakub Niziol (200-96, college: Cal Poly) added 18 points in the effort for Enea Astoria. GTK (8-9) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Polski Cukier and King. Loser Enea Astoria dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. GTK will face league's leader Zastal Enea BC in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enea Astoria will play on the road against Wilki Morskie (#10) in Szczecin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
