Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Rivas (6-0) defeated at home 7th ranked Daimiel (1-4) 75-60 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward David Garcia (200-99) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Sergio Hervas (184-92) added 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Daimiel. Rivas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Enrique Benitez and Real Madrid 2. Newly promoted Daimiel keeps the seventh place with four games lost. Rivas will face Fuenlabrada 2 (#6) in Madrid in the next round where they are favorite.
