There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Rieti (2-4) lost on the road to tenth ranked Chieti (2-3) 71-66 on Saturday. American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Paulius Sorokas (201-92, agency: Players Group) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Chieti players scored in double figures. American forward Steve Taylor-Jr (206-93, college: Toledo) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and guard Claudio Tommasini (197-91) added 16 points in the effort for Rieti. Chieti moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Latina. Rieti lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Chieti will face SAzzurra RO (#13) in Roma in the next round where they are favorite. Rieti will play on the road against Ferrara and hope to win that game.
