Regular Season Round 10: Carbajosa - Zamorano 74-57

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Zamorano (5-4) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Carbajosa (5-4) 74-57 on Saturday. Point guard Arturo Cruz (184-93) scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Alex Illikainen (206-96, college: UMD, agency: Duran International) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Carbajosa players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Sergi Costa (188-96) responded with 13 points and forward Mario Alvarez (201-91) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Carbajosa moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Carbajosa will face Ponferrada (#6) on the road in the next round. Zamorano will play against Marbella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
