Regular Season Round 13: UR Krakow - Polonia Bytom 63-98

Very expected game when 7th ranked UR Krakow (5-6) was crushed at home by second ranked Polonia Bytom (11-1) 98-63 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom outrebounded UR Krakow 44-28 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by UR Krakow's players. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side forward Mateusz Nowacki (198-99) responded with 23 points and point guard Marcin Siwak (182-97) scored 5 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Koszalin Zak. Loser UR Krakow keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Polonia Bytom will face AZS PS Gliwice (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. UR Krakow will play against Bielsko-Biala (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
