Regular Season Round 8: Kolossos HH - PAOK 84-85

A very close game took place in Rodou between PAOK and Kolossos HH. Eleventh ranked PAOK (3-5) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Kolossos HH (2-6). PAOK managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kolossos HH won third quarter 27-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PAOK shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American Beau Beech (206-94, college: N.Florida) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. PAOK's coach Aris Likogiannis used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian forward Mihajlo Andric (201-94, agency: BeoBasket) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and Turkish forward Kerem Kanter (207-95, college: Xavier) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five PAOK and four Kolossos HH players scored in double figures. PAOK moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ionikos Nikaias and Charilaos. Loser Kolossos HH dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. PAOK will meet at home Ionikos Nikaias (#9) in the next round. Kolossos HH will play against Aris in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.
