Regular Season Round 10: Unicaja-Andalucia - La Zubia 58-71

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked La Zubia (3-1) beat one of their biggest challengers Unicaja-Andalucia (4-3) in Malaga 71-58 on Saturday. La Zubia made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for forward Eloy Almazan (199-84) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Point guard David Garcia (180-93) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. La Zubia's coach David Cardenas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Pablo Tamba (197-3) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese forward Pierre-Waly Sene (201-3) added 16 points in the effort for Unicaja-Andalucia. La Zubia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 8 other teams. Loser Unicaja-Andalucia dropped to the second position with three games lost. La Zubia will face league's leader El Pinar at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
