Regular Season Round 23: Sendai 89ers - Fukushima 82-76

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Fukushima (13-10) against fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (14-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Fukushima was defeated by Sendai 89ers in a tough game in Sendai 76-82. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 10 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 blocks for the winning side. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) added 21 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Fukushima in the defeat. Sendai 89ers moved-up to second place, which they share with FE Nagoya. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Sendai 89ers will again meet at home Fukushima (#4) in the next round. Fukushima will have a break next round.
