There was no surprise in Ostrow Mazowiecki where 4th placed Ostrow Mazow. (8-4) was outplayed by second ranked AZS UMCS (10-1) 93-74 on Sunday. AZS UMCS forced 20 Ostrow Mazow. turnovers and had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Swingman Karol Obarek (194-93) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Krzysztof Wasowicz (183-94) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Five AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. At the losing side Pawel Lapinski (194-96) responded with 23 points and forward Przemyslaw Sloniewski (193-94) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS UMCS keeps a position of league leader. Loser Ostrow Mazow. dropped to the third place with four games lost. AZS UMCS will face Pabianice (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ostrow Mazow. will play against Legia 2 (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
