We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when top-ranked Avellino (3-1) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Rieti (3-0) 93-77 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in B. Rieti outrebounded Avellino 41-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Albanian swingman Klaudio Ndoja (200-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Federico Loschi (197-90) who added 21 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Luigi Brunetti (205-88) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Uchenna Ani (199-0) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rieti keeps a position of B leader. Loser Avellino dropped to the second place with one game lost. Rieti will face Cassino (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Avellino will play against Sant Antimo (#7) and hope to win that game.
