The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gornik as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gornik defeated 5th ranked Dziki Wwa in Walbrzych 77-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dziki Wwa. Gornik dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Dziki Wwa's 26. It was a good game for point guard Kamil Zywert (185-96) who led his team to a victory with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with 20 points for the winners. The former international Piotr Pamula (195-90) answered with 12 points and center Krystian Kozluk (205-94) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dziki Wwa. Dziki Wwa's coach Pawel Turkiewicz rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gornik (13-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Czarni. Newly promoted Dziki Wwa keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Lowicz and Lancut. Dziki Wwa will play next round against Wisla Krakow trying to get back on the winning streak. Gornik will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Kolobrzeg at home.
