Regular Season Round 23: Chiba J. - Toyama G. 130-129

Fifth-ranked Toyama G. (14-9) made lots of trouble for first ranked Chiba J. (20-3). Chiba J. managed to secure only one-point victory 130-129. However their fans expected much easier game. Chiba J. made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Chiba J. players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) saved the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 4 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a triple-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 14 assists and American center Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) in the effort for Toyama G.Five Chiba J. and four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Chiba J. have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-3 record. Toyama G. at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Akita NH. Chiba J. will play against Osaka E. (#4) on the road in the next round. Toyama G. will play against Dragonflies and hopes to get back on the winning track.
