The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Poznan's (4-7) home victory over 10th ranked Katarzynki (1-10) 82-64 on Sunday. Poznan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Katarzynki's 22. They outrebounded Katarzynki 44-31 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American point guard Tiffany Brown (168-86, college: Georgia South) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import power forward GMrice Davis (189-96, college: Fordham) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Poznan players scored in double figures. Poznan's coach Grzegorz Zielinski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-93, college: Louisville) replied with 18 points and 7 assists and the former international swingman Magdalena Zietara (180-92) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Katarzynki. Poznan moved-up to eighth place. Katarzynki at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Poznan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Katarzynki will play at home against Wroclaw (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
