Rather expected game when 7th ranked Fortaleza (7-5) lost to fourth ranked Vivo/Franca (8-5) in Sao Paulo 81-98 on Monday. Vivo/Franca looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a very good performance for international forward Lucas Silva (208-95) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Desmond Holloway (194-90, college: Coastal) answered with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Rashaun McLemore (195-86, college: CSUN) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Fortaleza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vivo/Franca maintains fourth place with 8-5 record. Loser Fortaleza keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Vivo/Franca will face Paschoalotto/Bauru (#5) at home in the next round.
