There was no surprise when 5th ranked Inter Bratislava (5-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Nova Ves (12-5) 79-75 on Tuesday. Nova Ves outrebounded Inter Bratislava 48-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. American guard Delano Spencer (190-94, college: Tennessee St.) fired 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Michal Cekovsky (211-94, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Lautaro Lopez (190-99) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Lithuanian forward Arnas Berucka (195-97, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Inter Bratislava's coach Oleg Meleschenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nova Ves have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Levice. Defending champion Inter Bratislava keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Nova Ves is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Handlova (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Inter Bratislava will play against the league's leader Levice and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
