Rather expected game when 10th ranked Martos (2-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Andujar (4-3) 84-80 on Wednesday. Andujar outrebounded Martos 57-44 including 22 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Andujar made 7 blocks. Martos was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for swingman Bernardo Castillo (196-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. British center Gatluak Thiep (213-92, college: Fayetteville St.) helped adding 11 points, 21 rebounds and 6 blocks. Argentinian guard Leandro Furlan (193-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Swedish forward Uros Cigoja (198-98) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Andujar moved-up to fifth place in Group D-A. Loser Martos keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Andujar will face ULB OH!TELS (#11) in La Linea in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Martos will play on the road against Estepona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
