Regular Season Round 8: Okzhetpes - MBJSM 69-87

Bottom-ranked Okzhetpes is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to third ranked MBJSM (6-2) 87-69 on Wednesday evening. MBJSM forced 27 Okzhetpes turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by forward Karina Olenberg (179-98) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Makpal Nusipova (182-99) supported her with 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Even 25 points and 8 rebounds by point guard Kamila Amanzholova (163-4) did not help to save the game for Okzhetpes. Point guard Zoya Budai (167-3) added 17 points, 10 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Okzhetpes' coach Victoriya Volkova tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. MBJSM have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted MBJSM maintains third position with 6-2 record behind leader Turan. Loser Okzhetpes still closes the standings with eight games lost. MBJSM will meet at home league's second-placed Kaspiy Aktau in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okzhetpes will play against the league's leader Turan (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
