Regular Season Round 9: H.Eilat - H.Beer Sheva 85-72

Rather expected game when 5th ranked H.Beer Sheva (4-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Hapoel Eilat (7-2) 85-72 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Eilat. H.Beer Sheva managed to win second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Eilat dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to H.Beer Sheva's 26 and had 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while H.Beer Sheva only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded H.Beer Sheva 49-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was power forward Josh Nebo (206-97, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Casey Prather (198-91, college: Florida) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and Spencer Weisz (193-95, college: Princeton) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to second place. H.Beer Sheva lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Hapoel Eilat will meet Ironi Nahariya (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. H.Beer Sheva will play against Bnei Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
