Regular Season Round 8: Raad - Gorgan 61-79

Superleague top team - Gorgan (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Raad (1-5) in Mashhad 79-61. Gorgan dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Raad's 18 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Gorgan forced 19 Raad turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Rouzbeh Arghavan (214-88) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gorgan players scored in double figures. N Fathi produced 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Mohammadamin Kamalvand (196-98) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gorgan have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Raad lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with five games lost.
