Regular Season Round 24: Kyoto H. - Hitachi SRT 98-103

The game in Kyoto was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (16-8) played at the court of 8th ranked Kyoto H. (7-17). Hitachi Sunrockers managed to secure a 5-point victory 103-98 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kyoto H.. Hitachi Sunrockers shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Kyoto H. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 4 assists. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) added 18 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Kyoto H.Four Hitachi Sunrockers and five Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD and Kawasaki BT. Loser Kyoto H. keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round. Kyoto H. will play again at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) and hope to win that game.
