Regular Season Round 24: Sea Horses M. - Tochigi B. 82-88

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (17-7) in Kariya on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Tochigi B. (20-4) 88-82. Tochigi B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) added 10 points and 6 assists in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi B. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-4 record having just three point less than leader Chiba J. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Ryukyu GK. Tochigi B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aishin Sea Horses will play again at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
